Such is Life

This seal depicts a ship with the French caption "Telle est la Vie" meaning "Such is Life". An acceptance of the unpredictable fortunes of existence, take the good with the bad, make the most of it and above all get on with life!

The early uses of this phrase date from the mid 18th century; for example, Joseph Baretti's A Grammar of the Italian Language, 1762, translates "Cosi va'l mondo!" as "Such is life" and continues: "Such is life, that whatever is proposed, it is much easier to find reasons for rejecting than embracing."

♡♡ This pendant is made using the original wax seal that dates to the mid 1800's. The charm has been given an antique patina to bring out all the details. Please note that the picture has been enlarged so you can see the detail. Each one is handmade to order, unique and one-of-a-kind in every regard. Due to their handmade nature, they may vary slightly in size.

Unless your jewelry is made to order, we’ll ship your piece within 5 business days. If you need your order ASAP, please contact us to see if we can accommodate your request. All of our packages are shipped from our Ohio studio via USPS First Class Mail or USPS Priority Mail. Once your order leaves our studio you’ll receive a tracking number so that you can follow the progress of your shipment.
