Horse Wax Seal Crest Necklace

Pictured is a Horse with the Latin motto reading MAKE HASTE SLOWLY. An oxymoron nonetheless, this motto refers to "More Haste, Less Speed", meaning "What is done quickly enough, is done well enough", for a person who makes no mistakes is better than one who rushes through important details screwing everything up. The phrase was made popular by the great emperor Augustus, who often was quoted as saying "Make haste slowly, for a general who makes no mistakes is better than a brave one".

Horses are considered very spirited, powerful and beautiful animals. They were thought of like brave warriors: highly skilled fighters who loved victory and were miserable when conquered.

In heraldry, the horse is a symbol of speed, intellect and virility.

♡♡ This pendant is made using the original wax seal that dates to the mid 1800's. The charm has been given an antique patina to bring out all the details. Please note that the picture has been enlarged so you can see the detail. Each one is handmade to order, unique and one-of-a-kind in every regard. Due to their handmade nature, they may vary slightly in size.
