Don't Judge a Book by its Cover - Rich Not Gaudy - Can Can Girl Risque

Rich Not Gaudy Wax Seal Pendant pictures a Can Can girl bending over while looking over her shoulder and showing her butt, the inscription reads "Rich Not Gaudy", taken from the Shakespearean play Hamlet, the pendant is making fun of the phrase and the fact that you never want to dress too "loud" or "gaudy" for you'll never be taken seriously and thus be judged as unworthy. This pendant proves that the Victorians DID have a sense of humor! It's also a reminder to not judge a book by it's cover, or in this case outward appearances.

"Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy, But not expressed in fancy; rich, not gaudy". --Hamlet, Shakespeare.
